Ben
Wightman has been involved with the agricultural industry
for over 40 years.
Key
posts have included managing a large farm in Herefordshire,
responsible for 600 acres, cereals and hops. This was
followed by managing Henley Manor Farm for ICI. From
Henley Manor, Ben moved to manage the farm associated
with Yeo Valley yogurt, near Bristol and following that,
he managed 2,500 acres for Hanford Farms, including
400 acres of land in organic conversion.
In
1998 Ben set up as an independent agricultural consultant,
covering all aspects of business and technical management
including organic advice. In 2005 the business was merged
with a local firm of Chartered Surveyors, covering the
same areas of management, but offering a local specialist
service for organic husbandry.
